Do I need fishing equipment insurance?
Your household insurance does not always cover sports apparatus such as fishing equipment; therefore you may want specific fishing equipment insurance.

What sort of fishing equipment does your policy cover?
We cover bait boats, bed chairs, bite alarms & indicators, bivvies, fishing barrows, fishing beds, fishing chairs, fishing luggage & bags, nets, reels, rods, rod pods, shelters, sleeping bags, tackle box & contents, umbrellas and wheelbarrows.

Does this insurance cover my fishing technology?
Yes. Our fishing kit insurance provides cover for binoculars and FishSpy, GoPro, and Waterwolf underwater cameras if they are stolen, lost or accidentally damaged whilst in your home, in a private garage, shed or outbuilding, whilst night fishing or whilst in an unattended vehicle. Please note that when the vehicle is at your home, your fishing technology must be removed and stored within your home.

Is there any equipment that you don't cover on the fishing insurance policy?
We are unable to cover cooking equipment, any items which are perishable, fishing spectacles or sunglasses.

Do I need to provide a list of the items I want to insure?
No, you do not need to list each individual item, but you do need to make sure that you’ve chosen a policy that provides enough cover for your fishing equipment as either New for Old (if it’s less than 4 years old), or price paid or market value (whichever is less), should it be lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged.

Can my fishing kit be used by others?
If you choose the Family Members Optional Benefit, we will cover your fishing kit if it is stolen, lost, or accidentally damaged whilst being used by up to three family members.

Am I covered for Sea fishing?
Yes, Sea fishing is covered as long as you are within coastal waters of the UK.
In addition to Sea fishing, we also provide cover for Coarse, Match, Game, Fly and Night fishing.

Can I take my fishing kit abroad?
Yes. We include up to 120 days per year (depending on the policy you choose) as Worldwide Cover (Standard) on our fishing insurance policies.

Do I need any specific security on my vehicle or where I keep my equipment?
Yes, full details are provided within our fishing equipment insurance Security Requirements within our policy wording.

Is there anything else this policy covers apart from my fishing equipment?
When you’re fishing, we understand that you don’t just take your standard kit with you. That’s why our policies include cover for your personal belongings, fishing technology, and fishing clothes as standard.

If you also want to cover your gadgets and mobile phones, you will need to select that Optional Benefit.

If I land a whopper, does this policy offer a reward?
It certainly does! All you have to do is provide written confirmation or acknowledgment and acceptance by The British Record (Rod Caught) Fish Committee (BRFC) within 14 days of notification to you and we could pay up to £3,000.

What is New for Old (Standard)?
If your fishing equipment is lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged within four years of its manufacture date and you have chosen a level of cover that insures it for its full new-replacement value, we will reimburse you up to the cost of a brand-new replacement.

Please make sure you select a level of cover that reflects the full costs of replacing the item as new otherwise the new-for-old benefit will not apply and the maximum amount we will pay will be the purchase price or market value (whichever is lower).

What is New for Old (For Life)?
If your fishing equipment is lost, stolen, or accidentally damaged during its working life and you have chosen a level of cover that insures it for its full new-replacement value, we will reimburse you up to the cost of a brand-new replacement.

Please make sure you select a level of cover that reflects the full costs of replacing the item as new otherwise the new-for-old benefit will not apply and the maximum amount we will pay will be the purchase price or market value (whichever is lower).

Does this insurance cover my fishing clothes?
Yes. Our fishing insurance policies provide cover for fishing clothes at home, in a private garage, shed or outbuilding, whilst night fishing on the bank of a river or lake, or in an unattended vehicle. Please note that when you’re at home, any fishing kit must be removed from your vehicle and stored within your home.

Can I get any cover for my gadgets or mobile phones on this fishing policy?
