If you’re a bride or groom-to-be, you may well be looking ahead to 2019 for one of life’s biggest adventures. With this in mind, you’re probably already planning the big day and might like to look into what’s going to be in fashion for weddings next year. That’s why we, at The Insurance Emporium, have been looking into some of the wedding trends for next year’s ceremonies.
1. This one’s pretty sweet…
Many guests like to sample different bits of food that they fancy. That’s why some couples are doing away with choosing and booking a traditional three-course months in advance, opting instead for more flexible options. A dessert table or dessert bar is proving to be particularly popular, where guests can mix and match different types of sweet treats. From pick ‘n’ mix to apple pies, a dessert table lets you have your cake and eat it too!
2. Sustainable ceremonies
Princess Eugenie’s plastic-free wedding has struck a chord with many and inspired couples to look at ways that they can have a more ecologically sustainable wedding. Some might consider minimising plastic and other waste at their ceremony, using things like glass straws and linen napkins. Other options for environmentally-friendly festivities include offering organic foods and decorating with flowers that can be replanted.
3. Hold your colour
While pale colour palettes have been the order of many big days, it looks as though more ceremonies are embracing deeper or bolder hues. Oranges, reds, pinks and purples are set to be intertwined in flowers and other table decorations. This craving for colours could well be seen in wedding attire too, with mix and match groomswear becoming increasingly popular and even some brides choosing dresses in hues other than white!
4. All on board
More brides and grooms are choosing to make their wedding days less about keeping up with the Jones’ and more about being themselves! So, breaking with tradition, more and more couples are involving their friends, regardless of gender, into their squads. bridesmen and groomsgirls, as well as bestwomen, have become much more common, as couples want all their best friends to play a part in their special day.
5. Fit for a prince
The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has probably been the biggest royal talking point of 2018 and it’s expected that various aspects of this ceremony will influence wedding plans next year. Meghan’s wild flower bouquet is likely to inspire people to bring nature into their nuptials. That’s why boho-inspired flower arrangements and tailored greenery could be a growing trend. Plus, Meghan’s minimalist wedding dress and diamond tiara could well inspire many brides.
