At The Insurance Emporium, we can’t believe we’re already into the new year, let alone a new decade! The January blues are nearly behind us, and as we’re looking forward to the year ahead, it’s the perfect time to plan all our caravan adventures. That’s why we’ve put together our picks for the best caravan parks in the UK, to help you make the most of your home from home in 2020!
Cornwall
Cornwall is one of the more popular UK holiday destinations, and for good reason! With a large portion of the county considered an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’re always close to some magnificent sights, from coasts to caves to forests. For a family holiday, we think the best caravan park in Cornwall might just be the Little Bodieve Holiday Park. On-site facilities include swimming pools, play areas and mini golf, so there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained on this caravan site. You’ll be close to the riverside town of Wadebridge too, where you’ll find supermarkets, restaurants and even a heated indoor swimming pool!
Pembrokeshire
If you’re looking for a coastal getaway, you’d be hard pressed to find a better location than Pembrokeshire in Wales. Based just a stone’s throw from the coast, Fishguard Bay Resort is a quiet, secluded caravan park in the perfect location for anybody wanting to explore Pembrokeshire’s 186-mile coastal path. There’s plenty to do around the park as well, like kayaking and coasteering, if you’re the adventurous type!
Devon
Voted number one in our poll of the top caravan holidays in the UK, Devon could be the best of British holidays! Our choice of caravan park in Devon has to go to Oakdown. This holiday park in Sidmouth has won a myriad of awards, for good reason! On-site facilities are great for families and pet parents alike, boasting play areas, dog spas and even a golf course! Located between traditional villages, plenty of local walking routes lead to Branscombe, Otterton and Sidbury where you’ll be able to enjoy a meal in one of the local pubs. The picturesque coastal town Sidmouth is just a few miles away too, and a great place to enjoy a day or meal out!
The Lake District
A walker’s paradise, The Lake District might be one of the most beautiful areas in the United Kingdom. In our opinion, the best caravan park in The Lake District might have to be Hill of Oaks! One of the park’s unique selling points is its on-site access to slipways, piers and a private dock, in case you were planning to bring a boat! You might be lucky enough to see some of the local wildlife on one of the on-site nature trails, and the water sports on Lake Windermere add a touch of excitement to any summer holiday.
Dorset
Looking for the best caravan parks in Dorset? Why not have one of the area’s defining landmarks right on your doorstep, at the Durdle Door Holiday Park! The park is in an excellent location, from which you’ll be able to explore Dorset and the historic Jurassic Coast. Discover Lulworth Cove, take a walk around the grounds of Lulworth Castle or enjoy a taste of the fresh, local cuisine, all just a short walk from this picturesque caravan park.
