Your Story – Jay & Camera Insurance

Photography can open a world of opportunities for those who pursue it as more than a hobby; whether that’s a career in photojournalism, scientific photography, portrait photography, commercial photography, and many more.

Being a wedding photographer is another fantastic career for a professional photographer – which is exactly what our customer Jay has been doing for a living for the past four years.

We recently spoke to Jay to find out his experience when taking out camera insurance.

Jay’s Camera Insurance Experience

After turning what was a hobby into a career, Jay knew he needed to take out insurance, so he searched online and discovered The Insurance Emporium.

Earlier in the year, Jay was on a family holiday travelling by train – when they had to make a quick change; coupled with navigating children, Jay left his equipment behind. By the time he realised his mistake it was too late.

Losing his equipment would be detrimental to his business as a wedding photographer, therefore Jay put in a claim at once. He was really impressed with the service he received, from being sent the claims form to the prompt and professional service he encountered when liaising with the claims department.

Having successfully claimed back the money his lost equipment was worth; he was able to replace everything and could quickly return to capturing couples on their special day.

Accidents can happen to even the most cautious of people and whether you’re an amateur, semi-professional or professional photographer, the loss of your photographic equipment could cost you hundreds if not thousands of pounds. Thankfully, our camera insurance policies cover Theft, Loss or Accidental Damage among its range of standard benefits. Take a look at our policies and find out how you could tailor your cover to meet your needs.
