1. Outdoor Games
For summer weddings, this one’s a no brainer! Giant, outdoor games like Twister, Jenga and Connect 4 are always a hit, and could keep the kids entertained for hours – and probably some of the adults, too! Or why not hire a piñata? You could even get the bride and groom in on the action! However extravagant you want to go, you’ll keep kids entertained for hours with some good old-fashioned outdoor fun.
2. Games Room
You could take this one any direction you want. Set up your old Nintendo 64 in a room for some four-player Mario Kart action, or even hire an arcade cabinet full of old favourites. You could hire a foosball table and set up a tournament. Just be careful the parents aren’t stealing all the fun! You could even just set up board games and jigsaws to keep your little guests entertained for hours into the night!
3. Scavenger Hunt!
What group of children doesn’t love a good scavenger hunt! Bonus points if you mix things up a bit. Give the kids disposable cameras and tell them to snap pictures of the items, events, or even people they need to find! This could even lead to some unique wedding shots you’ll be looking back on for years to come. Remember to promise prizes to keep it interesting!
4. Arts & Crafts
Okay, this might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Giving the kids arts and crafts where the focal point of the day is a long, white dress? What could go wrong?! But kids of all ages can be entertained with some creativity. Cover a table in brown paper and crayons, and let them go to town! Colour-in tablecloths can also be a great way to entertain the kids at dinner. Just don’t let them loose with any paint!
5. Kids Disco
If you’ve got the space, make a kids only dance area! Don’t worry about hiring a second DJ – they’ll be happy enough with a set of speakers and a Spotify playlist. If you don’t have the space for a separate floor, asking the DJ or band to do a kids only hour before the parents take to the dance floor could be a real hit!
