Payment of irrecoverable expenses for the wedding attire, stationery and suppliers booked but not used where the wedding or reception is cancelled or curtailed.
Payment of the difference between the original and rearrangement cost to provide a comparable service where the wedding or reception is cancelled or curtailed.
Irrecoverable deposits where your supplier fails to comply with its obligations due to bankruptcy or liquidation.
Loss, theft or accidental damage of the wedding rings, flowers or cake.
Loss theft or accidental damage of the wedding attire.

Alternative transport where the private hire firm or individual with whom the transport arrangements have been made fail to meet contractual obligations due to non-appearance, breakdown or road traffic accident.

Your legal liability to others for compensation and costs arising from your wedding or reception.
Accidental bodily injury sustained, and within 12 months is the sole cause of death, total and irrevocable loss of hearing, sight or limbs or total permanent disablement.
Costs of travel, accommodation and fees if you have to pay to produce replacement essential documents necessary to your wedding overseas.
Irrecoverable deposits for services which must be cancelled or £25 for 12 hours then £30 every 12 hours thereafter or reasonable cost of alternative travel in the event of breakdown or involvement in an accident.

£27.00 is based on a UK Wedding with the Amber level of cover with no Optional Benefits selected.
£219.00 is based on a UK Wedding with the Diamond level of cover with no Optional Benefits selected.
Who is able to purchase the wedding insurance policy?
Our wedding insurance policies can be taken out by anyone as long as the policyholder, bride, groom and civil partner are over 18 and permanent residents of UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
When should we take out wedding insurance?
You can take out wedding insurance as soon as you make any bookings or pay any deposits towards your wedding. Insurance can be taken out up to 2 years prior to the wedding or up to 10 days before the big day.
Does the wedding venue need to be booked before I take out wedding insurance?
Although you must provide the dates for the ceremony/reception when you take out the policy, if you do not know the venue/address you can still purchase the insurance policy. However, you must inform us of the venue/address as soon as it has been booked to ensure your policy is kept up to date.
I have already paid a deposit for my wedding. If I now take out your wedding policy, will this deposit be covered?
Yes, we cover costs for deposits paid before the inception of the policy. However, the policy will not cover any claims for bankruptcy, liquidation or failure to meet contractual obligations of any supplier that occur either before the policy start date/time or within the first 14 days of the policy start date/time.
Will my wedding be covered if it is in a marquee?
If you wish the marquee to be insured, you will need to select the Optional Benefit 'Marquee Cover'. This offers cover for marquees up to £50,000 and includes the items within the marquee such as staging, chairs, tables, lighting, flooring, toilets and ancillary equipment.
We are having a wedding with ceremonial swords, does your policy cover this?
If you wish the ceremonial swords to be insured, you will need to select the Optional Benefit 'Ceremonial Swords'. This offers cover for ceremonial swords up to the value of £20,000.
I hold a British passport and currently live overseas. I will be travelling back to the UK for my wedding, am I able to take out an insurance policy with you?
The policyholder and both the bride(s), groom(s) or civil partners must be a permanent resident living in the UK. The policyholder can be living in the UK on a visa. To be a permanent resident, the policyholder's main residence must be in the UK and they must not have been abroad for more than a total of 6 months in the last year.
We are planning to hold the ceremony and reception on different days, will this be covered by your policy?
Yes, the policy can cover ceremony and receptions held up to 56 days apart.
We are having two ceremonies/two receptions, will this be covered by your policy?
Yes, the policy can cover up to two ceremonies and two receptions.
Does the wedding insurance policy also include cover for my honeymoon?
No, you will need to purchase a separate travel insurance policy.
Would your policy cover a situation in which my partner, a member of the armed forces, is posted overseas?
The cancellation and rearrangement section of the policy includes cover for the unforeseen posting overseas of a member of the UK armed forces or unavoidable and necessary duty for the Ambulance Service, Coastguard, Fire Brigade, Police or nursing personnel which prevents either partner from attending the wedding.
Would your policy cover the cost of cancellation if one of us gets 'cold feet' before the ceremony and decides not to proceed?
Unfortunately, our policy does not cover if either partner decides not to proceed with the marriage.
Will I be covered if my wedding or reception is affected by Covid 19 or something similar?
Our wedding policies are designed to provide cover for the usual ups and downs of getting married, so we don't cover any claims where Covid 19 affects the wedding or reception.
Will gifts of money and vouchers be covered under the Wedding Gifts section on the policy?
Unfortunately, our policy does not cover gifts of cash money, cheques, postal orders, vouchers or tickets etc.
Will I need to pay an excess?
There is no excess for Cancellation and Rearrangement. You will need to pay the first £250 for Public Liability claims and £50 for all other sections of our standard policies. If you purchase Ceremonial Swords, Marquee cover, Extended Public Liability for Guests as Optional Benefits you will need to pay the first £250 of any claims.
What are Optional Benefits and do they apply to my wedding policy?
Optional Benefits are sections of cover that you can select if you wish to.
Optional Benefits applicable to our UK wedding insurance policy are:

My venue has stated that I must have public liability insurance, does your policy include this?
Yes, our policies include Public Liability cover for the bride, groom or civil partners for up to £3million. If chosen, the Extended Public Liability Optional Benefit can increase this up to £5million. Cover may also be extended to guests by choosing the Public Liability for Guests Optional Benefit.
